This was a joint submission by LMCA and CAN (Climate Action Newcastle) which was presented in an excellent editorial in the Newcastle Herald 18/6/08.
This proposal has also been presented to LMCC and is worth a read if you live in the Hunter and would like to pay less for your garbage removal with lower landfill and CO2. Here is the media release.
